The Alexander Technique is a practical, skills-based approach to moving through life with more ease, balance, and clarity. It helps you recognize and shift patterns of tension and coordination that may be getting in your way—so you can feel more supported in how you move, carry yourself, and meet the demands of daily life.
Learning begins with simple, everyday movements—sitting, standing, walking—and the actions that matter most to you. You begin right where you are, applying what you learn in the real moments of your day. As your skills grow, they become part of how you move, breathe, and respond—supporting mobility, posture, regulation, and confidence in how you move and feel.
The Technique isn’t a therapy or a replacement for medical care—it’s a process of learning. It gives you tools to develop awareness and skill in how you use yourself, with any therapeutic benefits emerging from that learning and practice. While distinct from clinical treatment, it can integrate well with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychological support, and movement-based practices—complementing shared goals in health, recovery, and well-being.
Mark is certified in the Alexander Technique (Alexander Technique Canada) and holds a Master’s in Occupational Therapy (UBC).
