The Alexander Technique for Health, Well-being & Posture

The Alexander Technique is an educational approach that helps you identify and change limiting patterns of tension and coordination, discovering greater ease, balance, and freedom in movement, posture, and daily activities.

Learning begins with awareness and coordination in simple, everyday actions—how you sit, stand, walk, and engage in the activities that matter most to you. As your skills grow, you can apply them to more complex activities such as exercise, workplace and performance challenges, supporting mobility, posture, reduced tension, and increased ease and skill in the actions of your daily life.

The Technique is not a therapy or a substitute for medical treatment. It is a process of learning, in which therapeutic benefits often emerge naturally as you develop greater ease and skill in how you use yourself. It also integrates well with physiotherapy, occupational therapy, psychological care, and other interdisciplinary supports, aligning with shared goals of health, recovery, and well-being.

Mark is a certified teacher of the Alexander Technique (Alexander Technique Canada) and holds a Master's in Occupational Therapy from UBC (M.OT). His teaching combines current health and movement science with extensive experience helping people overcome diverse physical and functional challenges—supporting how they move, feel, and live their lives.
